Notable Games
1994 - Tech needed a win at TCU in order to secure the SWC championship outright. Instead the Frogs prevailed 24-17 and grabbed a piece of the title themselves along with three other teams, Baylor, Texas and Rice. Despite Texas Tech having the 4th worst overall record of the five co-champs at 6-6, they were chosen to represent the conference in the Cotton Bowl due to having the longest drought of not appearing in that bowl.
2006 - No longer conference rivals, the Frogs and Raiders played a home and home series in 2004 and 2006. The first meeting in Lubbock resulted in a Raiders 70-35 thrashing. This time the teams would face off ranked in the AP Poll for the first time in the rivalry and the Frogs would exact revenge and defeat the Raiders 12-3.
2012- In the first league meeting between the rivals since the Southwestern Conference in 1995, the 18th ranked Red Raiders outlasted a 3 OT shootout in Fort Worth 56-53. Tech QB Seth Doege threw for a career best seven touchdowns.
2014 - The 10th ranked Horned Frogs set a Big 12 record for points behind the play of quarterback Trevone Boykin's school record seven touchdowns en route to the 82-27 Frogs win.
